After a disappointing end to the night on Thursday in Winnipeg, Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 McPhillips Toyota/OMG Candy Millar Powered MasterSbilt by JMR, rebounded strong, picking up another win at the River Cities Speedway last Friday night, and was, for the second consecutive week, the fastest car in three of the four races he ran.

After a week away from the cockpit of the No. 2 McPhillips Toyota/OMG Candy Millar Powered MasterSbilt by JMR, Bill Mooney will continue his season as the point leader at the Red River Co-Op Speedway by one point over Mike Balcaen.

Highlites of Bill’s season thus far include a runner up finish after leading eleven laps on May 22nd at River Cities, in only his second night in the new car. That finish started a streak of top five finishes that lasted all the way until June 18th. Bill Mooney Racing Recap – Shock Value

After three more top tens last week, including a runner-up and fifth place finish, Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 McPhillips Toyota/OMG Candy Millar Powered MasterSbilt by JMR, had a “gloves off” kind of week, fighting an ill handling race car for three straight nights.

The three race stretch started on Thursday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minnesota, with the Northern Late Model Racing Association. Bill started second and finished third in the heat behind veterans Don Shaw and Mike Balcaen. Bill redrew the ninth starting spot for the feature, finished eleventh after wrestling an ill handling car due to shock problems that would continue to plague him the next two nights.
