It was a successful second week back for Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Millar Engines powered MasterSbilt by JMR, as two podiums highlighted his second three race swing in a row.

On Thursday night at the Red River Co-op Speedway, a string of good draws continued, as Bill got the second starting spot for his heat race. He lead the entire race, holding off a hard charging Shane Edginton at the end of the race, collecting the heat win, and earning the pole for the main event.

Bill lead the first four laps of the main event, but as he and Mike Balcaen raced door-to-door down the front stretch at the beginning of the fifth circuit, a lapped car caused Balcaen to check up, effectively stifling Bill’s momentum, allo...

Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Lucas Oil Millar powered MasterSbilt by JMR, bounced back from a blown tire on Thursday to score two more top tens during the three race NLRA swing last week.

Bill started the week last Thursday night at the Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg, where he finished third in a stacked heat race which included Dustin Strand and Mike Balcaen.

Bill redrew the ninth spot for the main event, and had made his way up to sixth with five laps remaining. It was then that Bill started to really come on, as he went high on Balcaen and early leader Kevin Sexton, going three-wide down the backstretch, and into turns three and four.

It’s been nearly two weeks since Bill suffered his second roll over of the 2018 season, when he rolled off the top of turns three and four at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN.

With the help of fellow competitors and a hard working crew, Bill was able to return to the track that very night, and pick up the hard charger award, finishing sixth after starting 15th.

Upon further inspection when Bill returned to his shop, the car was too damaged to return to competition without a complete rebuild.

It was a week of extreme highs and lows for Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Erickson Motors Miller powered MasterSbilt by JMR, as a pair of hard charger awards were overshadowed by another pair of misfortunes.

On Thursday night at the Red River Co-Op Speedway, Bill started the week with some good luck for a change, as a draw of 14 at the draw made for a rare bit of luck to begin a race night.

Bill started third in his heat race, and finished second to Ricky Weiss. Another stroke of luck saw Bill redraw the best number he could possibly get, a five redraw put him inside row three for the main event.
