Some of the biggest races lie ahead for Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Future Tint MasterSbilt by JMR, as it’s once again Outlaws week for the Northern Late Model Racing Association at the River Cities and Red River Valley Speedways.

A former winner of the August NLRA show with the Outlaws, he finished eighth last season at River Cities in his second night back after a roll over the previous month at the Greenbush Race Park.

Bill’s win on Outlaw night came in 2015. Bill started on the pole, and lead all twenty-five laps, holding off current World of Outlaws Late Model series regular Ricky Weiss for the victory.

Last season at the Red River Valley Speedway, Bill scored a heat win, and a sixth place finish in his first race at the track in two years. His previous visit netted a hard charger award, as he made eight passes on the way to winning the award.

So far this season, Bill has yet to finish outside the top ten in twelve nights of racing behind the wheel of the 2 car. In five of those races, Bill started the race well outside the top ten, while rebounding to still finish inside the top ten.

Bill is also coming off one of his best races of the season two weeks ago at the River Cities Speedway, where he took the lead down the backstretch, on multiple occasions, from Tom Corcoran.

After being slowed by lapped traffic, however, Bill finished with a fourth place run, one spot shy of his best performance of the season, which came on June 28th at River Cities.

Stat Attack:

Bill has two podiums, four top fives, and twelve top tens in twelve nights of competition so far this season.

What’s Ahead:

The week sees the NLRA return to the River Cities Speedway on Friday night, and the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND, on Saturday night, both with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
