This week Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Curtis Carpets MasterSbilt by JMR, is set to run three races in three consecutive nights, starting tonight at the Red River Co-Op Speedway in Winnipeg.

Bill’s last two races in Winnipeg have seen him improve from the fourth row in the main event to finish fourth both times. Bill finished a close second to Mike Balcaen at the season opener at the track on May 25th. Bill will enter tonight’s event just eight points back of Balcaen for the point lead in the season long standings in Winnipeg.

Bill did get to run a heat race last week, but was otherwise rained out most of the weekend. Bill and the crew put in a lot of hours repairing the 2 car after a wreck on the opening lap of the feature at River Cities on June 9. Bill finished third in his heat last week at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, during the NLRA opener with the World of Outlaws, but the feature was postponed due to rain.

On Saturday, Bill will head to Greenbush, MN for the NLRA visit to the Greenbush Race Park. Bill missed last June’s race at the Speedway due to a wreck that totalled the 2 car at the NLRA event with the World of Outlaws at River Cities.

Bill missed nearly three weeks building a new car, but picked up a win at River Cities on July 22, then went on to pick up the hard charger at Greenbush during last July’s NLRA race. Bill passed nine cars to win the hard charger, one of four times he won the award with the series last season.

Stat Attack:

Bill has one win, five top fives, and six top tens, in seven events of this season.

What’s on Tap:

Tonight, weekly action continues at the Red River Co-Op Speedway in Winnipeg, before two races south of the border at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, and with the NLRA at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN.
