With another race in the books, Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Winnipeg Hearing Centres MasterSbilt by JMR, scored another top ten after missing another heat race due to mechanical woes.

Bill’s only race last week came in weekly competition at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, due to the rain out of Saturday’s event at the Devils Lake Speedway.

Bill was slated to start fourth in the first heat race, but after he took the green, Bill immediately exited the racing surface upon entering the first turn, as the throttle had stuck on the 2 car.

Once again, the problem was quickly rectified, while Bill was again faced with a tall task, starting last in the main event.

Two weeks prior, Bill had a power steering issue, and once fixed, he rolled off in the twentieth and final spot in the main event that evening. Once all was said and done, Bill climbed all the way back to eighth.

Fast forward back to last Friday, where Bill rolled off 15th in the feature. He spent the first pair of laps running around the bottom, quickly charging to twelfth.

On the fifth circuit, after Bill had moved up to the top of the high-banked, third-mile “Bullring.” Bill split the middle of low running Nick Minske, and high running Troy Schill, to move into the top ten.

Bill headed back for the bottom around the halfway point, and after swapping back-and-fourth with rookie Cole Babcock, ended up finishing ninth in yet another green-white-checkered affair that lasted just over four-and-a-half minutes.

This week Bill races with the Northern Late Model Racing Association at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN on Saturday, then on Sunday during the Greater Grand Forks Fair at the River Cities Speedway, again with the NLRA.

Stat Attack:

Bill has five top tens in five nights of competition thus far this season.

What’s Ahead:

Bill will head to the Greenbush Race Park for the NLRA show on Saturday. The weekend concludes at River Cities on Sunday, once again, with the NLRA.
