Last weeks’ races were highlighted by a pair of mid-season Championship races at Bill’s home tracks. First on Thursday night at the Red River Co-Op Speedway in Winnipeg, Bill started and finished third in his heat race after holding off advances by Rick Fawcett and Troy Schill. Bill started fifth in the main event, and was running eighth after a number of cautions. On lap seven Bill and Paul Veert made contact going into turn three. The contact sent Bill into a tractor tire in the infield causing the 2 car to snap violently around breaking the right front shock, damaging the nose piece, and causing some frame damage, ending his evening in the 14th spot.

Along with the generosity of Mike Balcaen with the borrowing of a shock for the right front of the car, Bill was able to make repairs in time for racing on Friday night at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Bill started third in his heat and finished fifth, giving him the tenth starting spot for the feature. In the main event, Bill passed Jeff Hapala early and ran in the ninth spot for the majority of the first half of the race. Bill spent the last half racing with Zach Naastad for the seventh spot. Bill would finish seventh, making up three spots despite the damage to the race car from the night before.

On Saturday night, the NLRA series schedule was to continue at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN, but a line on showers showed up at the track at six o’clock and dumped too much rain for racing to take place, causing a second cancellation of late model racing in Greenbush this season.

Bill has four top fives and nine top tens in 16 nights of racing this year. Bill is sixth in both the Red River Co-Op and River Cities Speedway point standings. Bill also sits ninth in the NLRA series points race. Bill is scheduled to race twice this week starting Thursday with the Northern Late Model Racing Association at the Red River Co-Op Speedway in Winnipeg, and on Friday with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.
