Bill Mooney Racing Recap – River Cities and Jamestown

After being unable to make repairs to the car in time to race at the Red River Co-Op Speedway on Thursday night, Bill’s week started on Friday night at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Bill started fifth in his heat race, and raced around the bottom of the track to a second place finish. Bill started fourth in the feature and was racing with Dustin Strand for the fifth spot when the two made contact and spun off of the first turn. Bill was charged with the caution and was sent to the back of the field. Bill finished the race in the ninth position.

On Saturday night during the NLRA’s lone visit to the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND, Bill started fourth and finished third, putting him in a redraw spot in the main event. Bill drew the eighth starting spot, and remained inside the top ten throughout the first half of the 25 lap race. On lap 14, Bill fell out of the top ten and continued to drop back through the field until he finally had to retire from the race on lap 20.

Bill has five top fives and twelve top tens in 23 nights of racing this year. Bill is now eighth at the Red River Co-Op Speedway and sixth in the River Cities Speedway points standings. Bill is still seventh in the NLRA series points standings. Bill is 15th in the Wissota National point standings. Bill has only one race scheduled this week on Friday at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks for the Wissota Race of Champions qualifier.
