Bill Mooney Racing Recap – River Cities Test-n-Tune

Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Winnipeg Hearing Centres MasterSbilt, kicked off the season Last Friday night at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks for test-n-tune night.

Bill hit the track for the first of four practice sessions, his fastest lap in the first session was 12.424 seconds at just under 140 Kmh.

During the second session, Bill’s lap times improved, with the fastest lap hitting at 12.082 at just over 142 Kmh. During this session Bill and Joey Pederson raced side-by-side for four or five laps, being separated by just 5-one-thousandths of a second at the flagstand one lap.

During the third practice session Bill again lowered his best time, this time running under the 12 second bracket, ending the session with an 11.995 at just under 145 Kmh.

The fourth and final session saw Bill run his best lap of the night, running an 11.845 at 146.5 Kmh, just a tenth of a second away from the old track record.

Bill is scheduled to begin the 2016 racing season this Friday night at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.
