On Thursday night, September 4th at the River Cities Speedway during the NLRA season finale, Bill started and finished second in his heat race. That result put him in a redraw spot, an he drew the seventh starting spot in the main event. Bill spent the early part of the race battling John Kaanta in a rematch of Bill’s 2011 NLRA win at the Jamestown Speedway, in which Bill defeated Kaanta for his first NLRA series win. The latter stages of the race saw exchanges with eventual Seitz Memorial champion AJ Diemel and Pat Doar, whom Bill would have to finish ahead of by three spots to keep his streak alive of top tens in the final NLRA standings. Bill finished ninth, one spot ahead of Pat Doar, leaving Bill in eleventh in the NLRA standings, but beating Pat Doar, Jake Redetzke, Joey Pederson, and Mike Balcaen among others in one night is a major accomplishment.

After finishing eighth in his heat race on Friday night, Bill was forced to run a B Main on Saturday nights’ portion of the Seitz weekend for the first time since he was a rookie in 2010. Bill was running mid-pack for the majority of the race due to a bad fuel pump, which caused him to retire to the infield with to laps to go. Fortunately, Bill was the highest finishing driver from last years race that was not yet entered, so Bill was able to repair the fuel pump and start 26th. Bill had charged his way up to 19th by lap nine, but Bill became involved in lap 26 wreck with Zach Naastad and Steve Anderson, whom Bill spun to avoid. Norm Olson, was unable to miss Bill, and damaged the left front of Bill’s car. Bill continued racing after the lap 32 fuel stop, until lap 41 when he pulled into the infield.

Bill has six top fives and 15 top tens in 31 nights of racing this year. Bill will end the 2014 campaign this weekend with a double header at the Red River Co-Op Speedway on Friday September 19th, and Saturday September 20th.
