After another Friday night rain out, Bill Mooney, driver of the No. 2 Winnipeg Hearing Centres Millar Engines powered MasterSbilt by JMR, made his was to Devils Lake, scoring a heat win, and a top four run from row four.

After a rain out Friday night at the River Cities Speedway, the 2 car made a bit of a surprise appearance at the Devils Lake Speedway near Crary, ND for a tune up for the following weeks final visit of 2018 to the high-banked third-mile oval.

Bill drew the pole for his heat race, and picked up another heat win, improving to 3-and-1 in heat races early in this seasons’ campaign.

The good draws ended at the sign in shack, however, as Bill received the eighth and final redraw pill for the Wissota Race of Champions qualifying feature.

Lining up on the outside of the fourth row at the start of the event, the 2 car wasted no time moving forward, as Bill made passes on Tom Corcoran, Brandon Fuller, and Troy Schill to move into the top five on the opening lap.

The field clicked off ten green flag laps before a pair of cautions on the eleventh round. Lining up on the outside of the double file restart, Bill made one more pass in the second half of the event, passing Mike Balcaen for the fourth spot.

Bill ended the race in the fourth spot, scoring a third top five in four races so far this year.

Stat Attack:

Bill has two podiums, three top fives, and four top tens, in four nights of racing this season.

What’s Ahead:

Bill will head back to the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Friday night, then back to the Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday. Both races are with the Northern Late Model Racing Association.
